Campaign Insider - Everywhere A Sign

It would be great to do some kind of research to figure when political signs during elections campaigns became so prominent. In an age of social media and desktop publishing it seems signs wouldn't be nearly as vital. Yet they are, becoming more and more prominent. In many ways it seems like a waste, both financially and environmentally. And yet if you don't post them up around the community people will hardly know you're running. We recycle all our old signs, but during the campaign they have to be designed, purchased, deployed, and then gathered at the end. There is a method to all the madness and the video below goes into that somewhat. I've purposefully rolled out the sign placement slowly in this campaign because I think Canadians remain unsure as to why this election is necessary and there's no need to be "in their face" about it. You'll get to meet Paul, one of our great volunteers and someone who is in the process of getting signs placed in the community. Thanks to Paul and the other "sign" volunteers for all their hard work.[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDmZhqnwmvA&w=480&h=390]
